Colin - I went the rock and roll route, but those are darned fine choices. I'd go a little further outside for my favorite Miles -

Phil Keaggy - Time
Rev. Gary Davis - A Little More Faith
I can't really pick two, but these find their way into the cd player a lot.
Then there's Jeff Beck, Eric Jhonson, Clapton, Hot Tuna, Alman Bros., Hedges, Kottke, Peppe Romero, Parkening, LA Guitar Quartet, etc..
How could someone actually have favorites?Jim_W39072.9540162037

Very difficult to pick only two, but here goes.

Stan Rogers - Live - Between The Breaks (Grit Laskin is in the band on this one)

Kris Kristofferson - Spookey Lady's Side Show

Grant

Having come into adulthood in the sixties, it's somewhat hard to remember but here goes.

Fleetwood Macs Mr. Wonderfull made lots of circles in my life back in 68-69.

Other high rev albums were:
Van Morrison "His Band and the Street Choir"
Allman Brothers "Live back east at the Fillmore"
Quicksilver Messenger Service "Quicksilver Messenger Service "
Creedence Clearwater Revival "Creedence Clearwater Revival"
Jeff Beck Group "Truth" - "Old Man River" Rocks and "You Shook Me" really blows away Zeps version!!!

Impossible to pick two as it will change - each has it's own link to mood, events and moments. Right now:

"Fused" - Michael McGoldrick
"Cool and Unusual" - Martin Simpson

Sorry Cant do it - theres too many !

My favorite album of all time is generaly whichever Led Zep album I listened too last and second favorite would be another great album I've listened too recently.

I blame the I Pod - it means you tend to listen to all your record collection not just the albums on the top of the pile(s) by the stereo

Man, there sure are a lot of old hippies on this site!!!

Is that a pre-requisite for building guitars? Ha!

Hesh, One thing you may not realised, but probably do, is that they used a different album cover for Electric Ladyland in the USA than they did in Europe. In Europe it was a gatefold cover with about 50 naked women on it, apparently they weren't allowed to use it on your side of the pond! Glad I live in Europe!

It's as famous as the Sargeant Pepper or Darkside albums' covers here.

Hesh I believe that

Are the finest rock group of all time, in fact I can be really boring about them, I'm a complete YES anorak! Close to the Edge being their best, though I have a great affection for Topographic Oceans. The line up though has to include Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman, and Steve Howe or it just isn't Yes. Have you listened to Jon Anderson's Olias of Sunhillow? You see to me the 70s were Yes, Pink Floyd and Genesis (until Peter Gabriel left). I'm just an old hippy I suppose (Used to have my beard plaited!) I played in a Prog Rock band at the time.

I once saw Jimmy play Purple Haze for 90minutes non stop at the Marquee club, used to get some great bands in those small London clubs. Pink Floyd playing to about a 100 people at the UFO club, Syd Barrett, was a Cambridge boy where I was doing my DPhil.

I actually got to play with John Mayall for a couple of songs when Mick Taylor had to rush to the bathroom at the Brommel club. My claim to fame is that I took over from Mick taylor in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers! You know the Bluesbreakers guitarists, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Taylor.......Colin Symonds

Colin

Sorry Hesh It was Mick Taylor, not Jeff. Brain not in gear Colin S39075.7790625

Serge, I forgot about your connection with "The Band". I mentioned many months ago that Levon Helm was from my wife's hometown of Marvell, Arkansas. He even played some dances at their school.
